Allée Bleue Herbs
Allée Bleue proves to be an all-rounder yet again when it comes to being a serious producer of fine herbs. Taking the utmost care to provide the Western Cape with excellent quality herbs, we make use of farm production and selected growers.
These herbs are of course used in our kitchens at Allée Bleue and in order to create a Mediterranean style climate for the herbs with ideal growing conditions; a modern greenhouse and shade net facilities are used.
The range of herbs include Sweet Basil, Coriander/Dihania, Dill, Fennel, French and Garlic Chives, Rocket (wild and cultivated), Rosemary, Sage, Mint, Thyme, Lemongrass, Oregano, Sorrel, Tatsoi, Watercress, Tarragon and Chervil.
In excess of 80 hectares of fruit are grown on the estate including Nectarines, Pears, Plums and Persimmons (Sharon Fruit) for both the export and local markets. The varieties grown include Alpine and Mayglo nectarines, Laetitia, Songold, Ruby Nel, Amber Jewel, Pioneer, Teak Gold, Purple Majesty, Sun Kiss, Plums and Packham Triumph Pears.
